Shop gutted in Chanapora blaze

Srinagar, Feb 26: A shop of a tailor was gutted in Chanapora area of Srinagar district on Wednesday.

The shop which is housed on a ground floor, caught fire at around 09:50 in the morning, the officials said.

They said soon after the information received, multiple fire tenders from Srinagar headquarter and Nowgam were pressed into service to contain the fire.

The fire was brought under control swiftly, and was contained from spreading to adjacent structures, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, they added.
