Shoori Mohalla residents demand streetlights

Srinagar, Sep 23: Residents of Shoori Mohalla locality of Old Gagribal area here have demanded the installation of streetlights in the upper graveyard near forests in the locality.

A delegation from the area stated that they face difficulties visiting the graveyard during evening hours due to the absence of functioning streetlights. “The graveyard is located close to forests, and there is usually a presence of wild animals.

Whenever we have to make burial arrangements in the evening or at night, we face inconvenience in the darkness. We appeal to the SMC Commissioner to direct concerned officials to install streetlights in the graveyard for the convenience of locals,” they added.
