Ramban, Feb 8: Members of the Shia community in Ramban on late Sunday evening held a candlelight march to strongly condemn the recent terrorist attack on a Masjid in Islamabad, Pakistan, in which at least 31 people were killed and 169 others injured.

The protest was organised by Anjuman-e-Imamia Kunfer Chanderkot.

Participants marched through the main streets of the area carrying candles and placards, raising slogans against terrorism and denouncing the perpetrators of the attack.

Addressing the gathering, Moulana Samar Kazmi strongly condemned the attack, terming it an inhuman act and stressing the urgent need to put an end to terrorism in all its forms.

He said such acts of violence, especially at places of worship, were an assault on humanity and peace.

Irfan Haider, another speaker at the protest, expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

He reiterated that violence has no place in any society and called for justice for the victims.

The candle march concluded peacefully, with participants observing silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the attack.
