Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Najafi remembered
Budgam, Apr 20: Majlis-e-Tarheem of the noted Islamic scholar of Khanda Budgam, the late Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Najafi was held at Imam Bara Khanda on Sunday.
A statement issued here said that the function was attended by noted Islamic scholars, social activists, and a large number of people from different sects.
During the programme religious services of Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Najafi were remembered.
Noted Shia scholars Sheikh Ghulam Rasool Noori, Ghulam Ali Gulzar, Muhammad Ibrahim, Ghulam Muhammad Hamdard, Nisar Hussain Mir, Moulana Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Moulana Iqbal Hussain Mir, Moulana Hashim Ali Mir, and others attended the Majlis and spoke during the programme.
Social activist Raja Muzaffar Bhat also spoke on the occasion and impressed religious scholars to create awareness about climate change and environmental degradation.
Former President of Teachers Forum Ghulam Muhammad Hamdard also spoke on the occasion and hailed the work done by Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Najifi.
“Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Najifi was a distinguished and respected scholar who rendered great to society to society throughout his life and he was respected by both Shia as well as Sunni Muslims of the area,” Hamdard said.
“Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Najifi pursued higher education with steadfastness – earning a Master’s degree from the University of Kashmir, continuing his studies in Lucknow, and ultimately completing advanced religious studies in the sacred city of Najaf Iraq. After returning home, he devoted his entire life to serving the people. His contributions extended beyond religious teaching which included promoting social unity, compassion, and mutual respect. His work towards fostering unity between Shia and Sunni communities across Kashmir will always be remembered,” said Muzaffar Hussain Mir, nephew of late Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Najifi.
“The life of Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Najafi stands as a shining example of scholarly humility, public service, and sectarian harmony. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come,” said Moulana Hashim Ali Mir.
