Sheikh Feroz named vice president of IHAF
Srinagar, May 17: Sheikh Feroz, President of the Jammu & Kashmir Association of Hajj and Umrah Companies (JKAHUC), has been unanimously appointed Vice President of the newly formed Indian HGO Association’s Forum (IHAF).
The appointment came during IHAF’s inaugural session held Friday at Mumbai Gymkhana, where JKAHUC was honoured as a founding member of the national organisation representing India’s Hajj Group Organisers.
This historic recognition places Kashmir at the forefront of India’s outbound pilgrimage industry leadership, with Feroz now positioned as a key decision-maker in shaping national policies affecting millions of pilgrims.
“This appointment reflects the deep respect for JKAHUC’s contributions to the Hajj and Umrah sector and symbolises inclusive leadership within the newly-formed national forum,” said an IHAF spokesperson during the ceremony.
The selection was reportedly met with enthusiastic applause from attending delegates, underscoring the industry’s support for regional inclusivity in the forum’s leadership structure.
IHAF, officially launched on May 16, 2025, aims to unify India’s fragmented Hajj and Umrah service providers under a single advocacy organisation to address common challenges and establish industry standards.
