Shallabugh residents demand bridge for connectivity
The residents of the Paribal area of Shallabugh village in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have demanded the construction of a bridge over the Nallah Sindh. Locals stated that they are facing hardships due to the lack of a permanent bridge in the area.
They explained that residents, particularly farmers and women, need to access fields located on the other side of the Nallah. Currently, they must travel at least 20 kilometers to reach their destination, although it would take only 5 minutes if the bridge were constructed.
They noted that there is a proper road, and if the government builds a bridge, it will connect the area with Srinagar district. Local resident Abdul Majeed emphasized that the government should take necessary steps to construct the bridge, as it would provide significant relief to the people of Shallabugh and surrounding areas.
They mentioned that the tendering process for the bridge has been completed, but work has yet to begin. Locals appealed to the LG administration and the DC of Ganderbal to look into the matter.
