Shaher-e-Khaas traders demand augmentation of power infrastructure
Srinagar, Nov 22: Shaher-e-Khaas traders have demanded augmentation of power infrastructure in Downtown to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
“We demand the replacement of worn-out wires and decayed poles in Old City areas. Besides transformers should be upgraded as per load to prevent damage to these. Besides defunct street-lights should be repaired,” said Nazir Ahmad Shah, chairman of Shaher-e-Khaas Traders Alliance while chairing a meeting of traders today.
Shah hailed the prompt action by Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) in replacing a damaged transformer at Zaina Kadal. “The transformer was replaced within three hours. We extend our gratitude to Er Aaquib Sultana Waheed Deva, Chief Engineer (Distribution) KPDCL for ensuring immediate action and restoration of the power supply. We hope that she will redress our demands to ensure uninterrupted power supply” Shah added.
The meeting among others was attended by functionaries of the traders’ alliance including Inayat Bhat, Omar Gani, and Irfan Bhat.
