Shaheen urges Bihar CM to push for relief to J&K’s flood-hit areas
Srinagar, Sep 19: Jammu & Kashmir President GM Shaheen, flanked by State Secretary Ishfaq Ahmad Rather and General Secretary Advocate Zaman met National President of Janata Dal (United) and Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar in New Delhi.
Shaheen pressed for an extraordinary relief and rehabilitation package, insisting that the decimation of apple orchards has imperiled the very subsistence of growers.
He warned that unless the government intervenes with immediacy and magnitude, the economic annihilation of thousands of families will become irreversible.
“The apple industry is the lifeblood of Kashmir. Its devastation is not merely a financial setback, but a generational catastrophe. Without swift and substantial intervention, the survival of an entire populace stands imperiled,” Shaheen proclaimed. Nitish Kumar while acknowledging the gravity of the calamity, pledged resolute solidarity with the people of J&K and vowed that the JD(U) would support flood-hit people.
