Shaheen thanks Railway Minister for Srinagar-Delhi freight service carrying apples

Srinagar, Sep 11: On the demand of JD(U), Party President GM Shaheen has expressed gratitude to the Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji for operating two special trains dedicated to transporting fresh fruits from Kashmir to Delhi.

As per a press release, Shaheen said this initiative will provide a much-needed lifeline to fruit growers, ensuring timely export of perishable produce to national markets and protecting them from heavy financial losses due to road blockages and delays.

“This decision is a big relief for our orchardists and a direct boost to the economy of Kashmir. On behalf of JD(U) Jammu & Kashmir, I extend my deepest thanks to the Hon’ble Minister for responding positively to our demand,” Shaheen stated. The move is expected to strengthen the agricultural sector of the region, safeguard the livelihood of thousands of farmers, and reinforce confidence among the fruit-growing community.
