Ramban, Feb 8: Shab-e-Me’raj was observed with religious fervour across the Chenab Valley.

Prayers were held at mosques, shrines and at home last night in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.

Thousands offered night prayers in various mosques of Doda, Bhadarwah, Kishtwar, Thatari, and Highway town Banihal Batote, three grand mosques of District Headquarter Town Ramban, Maitra, Ramsu, Chanderkote, Seri, Batote ,Sangaldan, Rajgarh, Gool Sangaldan, Dhramkund, Khari Ukhral and other places in Ramban district.

People spent the entire night in Masjids and at religious places offered special congregational prayers, collectively seeking blessings of Almighty Allah.

All the arrangements for devotees were made by respective Auqaf and Masjid committees. Religious scholars in their sermons highlighted the importance of the night and its blessings.

They also threw light on the teachings of Islam, happenings of the holy night (Shab- e- Me’raj) and various aspects of the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The civil and police administration has made elaborate arrangements.
