Ramban, June 23: The Srinagar- Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium and heavy vehicles today. However, traffic congestion was between Ramban and Banihal sectors due to which traffic movement remained extremely slow.

Traffic said National Highway remained open however they said vehicular traffic movement remained slow due to the breakdown of a few heavy vehicles and due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, Panthyal, Nagarkot, Shalgari, Nachlana besides poor road surface conditions at many places between Nashri and Banihal. Meanwhile, traffic Police headquarters issued a fresh advisory for Monday stating that subject to fair weather and good road conditions medium and heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply on either side of NH-44.

Authorities once again advised passenger vehicle operators, and commuters not to undertake journeys on National Highway 44, during the night hours due to apprehensions of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal sectors.
