Sgr-Jmu NH remains open
Ramban, May 7: Srinagar- Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium vehicles and one-way traffic of heavy vehicles for Jammu on Wednesday.
Traffic officials monitoring traffic regulations on most problematic and landslide prone areas passing through Ramban informed that highway emained open for two-way traffic on private cars , passenger light, medium vehicles and one-way traffic of heavy vehicles for Jammu.
However, they said traffic movement remained slow due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Peeda, Mehad-Cafeteria and various other locations between Nashri and Banihal besides ongoing four-lane construction works.
They further said slow traffic movement was also observed due to on foot movement of nomads with their livestock. They said traffic is being managed in a regulated manner on Mehad - Cafeteria area of Ramban due to single lane road stretch.
Traffic officials monitoring the regulation of traffic on the highway in Ramban said scores of private cars and passenger light vehicles crossed the Chenani –Nashri and Banihal –Qaziqund tunnels for their respective destinations in Kashmir and Jammu till late Wednesday evening.
