Sgr–Jmu NH remains open

Ramban, Aug 19: The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium vehicles, and one-way traffic of heavy vehicles on Monday.

Traffic authorities said traffic movement remained slow due to the breakdown of few heavy vehicles and due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, and between Maroog to Kishtwar Pathar areas between Nashri and Banihal sectors of National Highway.

They said hundreds of light medium and heavy vehicles crossed Chenani Nashri and Banihal –Qaziqund tunnels till late Monday evening.

Meanwhile, traffic authorities said, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, light-medium passenger vehicles, private cars would be allowed to ply on either side of National Highway on Tuesday.
