Traffic authorities said that vehicular movement remained slow due to single-lane stretches, ongoing road repair works, and the breakdown of several heavy vehicles.

The movement of nomadic families with their livestock towards Jammu also contributed to traffic congestion.

Officials said that the highway continues to face single-lane restrictions and poor road conditions at Thard-Udhampur, Nashri, Dalwass, and between Maroog and Kishtwari Pattar stretches.

Authorities have advised commuters and vehicle operators to maintain lane discipline and strictly avoid wrong-lane driving, as it causes unnecessary congestion.

They appealed to the people not to travel against the issued advisories.

Commuters have also been urged to check the latest road status from the Traffic Control Units in Jammu, Srinagar, Udhampur, and Ramban, or via the official social media handles of the J&K Traffic Department on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, SSP Traffic, National Highway, Ramban, Raja Adil Hamid, is supervising the ongoing road repair works and traffic regulation at Thard, Udhampur.
