Sgr-Jmu NH closed for night repair work in Ramban

Ramban, June 13:  The Srinagar- Jammu National Highway was closed this evening for scheduled night repair work between Nashri and Banihal sectors in Ramban district.

Traffic authorities said the Highway was closed for every type of traffic movement at 6 pm at Qazigund Kashmir, 5 pm at Nagrota and at 6 pm at police check post Jakhani in Udhampur.

However, the traffic between Udhampur and Banihal is being cleared.

They said traffic will remain suspended on Thursday night and it will resume on Friday morning or till the road repair work is completed between Nashri and Banihal in Ramban district.

Traffic authorities in Ramban said both sides' traffic was suspended on the recommendations of the National Highway Authority of India, (NHAI). They said NHAI has intimated that urgent repair/maintenance has to be carried out on the highway between Ramban and Banihal during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

They said all types of vehicular traffic movement were suspended for Thursday night. They advised commuters and vehicle operators to avoid journeys on highway till the road repair work is completed on Friday morning.
