Sgr-Jmu National Highway remains open
Ramban, Sep 07: The Srinagar- Jammu National Highway (NH) remained open for two -way traffic of light medium and heavy vehicles on Saturday.
However, traffic authorities said traffic movement remains slow at various places between Nashri and Banihal sector of National Highway on Saturday.
Meanwhile in a fresh advisory issued by traffic police headquarter Ramban stating that no Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs), load carrier would be allowed after Saturday sharp midnight (intervening night of September 7 and 8 ) from Qazigund Kashmir through Banihal-Qazigund (Navyug tunnel) towards Jammu and from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar on Srinagar- Jammu National Highway, (NH-44).
They advised load carrier operators carrying fresh perishable /livestock to load their vehicles accordingly. They said heavy vehicles would be allowed to move on either side after Sunday 5 pm.
However, a senior traffic Police officer informed that subject to fair weather and good road conditions National Highway 44 would remain open for two –way traffic of private cars and light medium passenger vehicles on Sunday.
Sources informed Heavy Vehicular traffic on both sides of Srinagar Jammu National Highway between Udhampur and Qaziqund would remain suspended due to security reasons as Union Minister, (Defense) going to address two election rallies in support of BJP candidate in two Highway towns at Ramban and Banihal on Sunday.
