Sexual assault accused arrested from UP

Jammu, Nov 23: Police Saturday arrested an accused wanted in a sexual assault case, registered in Jammu, from Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Police, on October 31, 2024, a complaint was lodged at Pacca Danga Police Station. Based on the contents of the complaint, an FIR was registered under Sections 376 and 427 IPC.

“The SHO promptly initiated a comprehensive investigation under the supervision of SDPO City North. During the investigation, multiple teams were formed to track and apprehend the accused. Raids were conducted at various locations,” Police said.

“After relentless efforts, a team led by PSI Basharat Hussain arrested the accused, Mohd Ali, son of Abdul Latief, resident of Paizaniya, district Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, from Kukra in district Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. The entire operation was conducted under the close supervision of SDPO City North and guidance of SP City North,” Police said, adding that further investigation was underway.
