Several locals, tourists stuck in snowfall provided assistance: Police
Srinagar, Jan 23: Police on Friday said it extended helping hand to several tourists and general public amid heavy snowfall across Kashmir.
It said Police in Ganderbal provided timely assistance to tourists and local residents stranded due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather conditions at Gund and Sonamarg.
Similarly, assistance was provided to residents and commuters stranded due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather conditions across Shopian and Kulgam districts.
In Shopian, on receiving an urgent call from a COPD patient in need of oxygen, Police immediately arranged an oxygen cylinder from SDH Shopian and delivered it to the patient’s residence at Bon Bazar, Shopian. In another instance, police teams assisted in transporting a patient who was stranded due to heavy snowfall to the hospital, ensuring timely medical care, it said. Police in Kulgam rescued a woman along with her new born baby, who were stuck on way at Chango Crossing.
