Setbacks don’t decide futures: Education Minister tells unsuccessful students

Srinagar, Jan 14: Minister for Education Sakina Itoo on Wednesday congratulated all the students who passed the class 10th and 12th examinations, the result of which was declared by J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday.

However, she said that the students who could not pass the 10th and 12th class exams must not lose hope.

In her video message to the students, the education minister expressed her happiness over the pass percentage of the students in class 10th and 12th examination.

“I am happy to see the pass percentage of students and hope that these students will continue their hard work with the same zeal and excel in their future,” Itoo said.

However, she said that those students who could not pass the exams should not get discouraged but move on and work hard.

“Not passing the exam is not the end. These students should remain motivated and make another attempt to pass the exams so that they can move ahead in their lives,” the Education Minister said.

The pass percentage of class 10th examination was 85.03, and the pass percentage of class 12th was 84.02.

“This is a good percentage, and I am satisfied that the results of both classes were declared in a time-bound manner. We declared the results of both classes on the same day, which is an achievement of the government,” Itoo said.

She said the results of both classes were declared on time to enable students to complete the admission formalities in their higher classes without delay.

This is the second time in a year that the JKBOSE declared the results of two classes on the same day.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Chairman JKBOSE Ghulam Hassan Sheikh said they had prepared a proper plan for the timely declaration of results for the classes.

“The pass percentage is far better than that of previous classes,” he said.

Sheikh said the JKBOSE was trying its best to improve and meet the expectations of the students. “Last year, we created history by declaring the results of two classes on the same day and this year we repeated the process. We tried our best to ensure students do not face any difficulties in checking results,” the JKBOSE Chairman said.
