Srinagar, Dec 13: A delegation from the SMC Senior Citizens Forum met with SMC Commissioner Dr Owais Ahmad today to address pending issues faced by retired municipal employees.

The delegation, led by President Bashir Ahmad and accompanied by General Secretary Manzoor Ahmad Taray and Organising Secretary Muhammad Maqbool Malik, presented a comprehensive overview of challenges confronting retired municipal workers.

During the cordial meeting, the Commissioner listened attentively to the delegation’s concerns, demonstrating a compassionate approach to resolving longstanding problems. Dr Owais Ahmad agreed to a detailed follow-up meeting with Forum office bearers and relevant SMC authorities.

The Commissioner instructed Chief Enforcement Officer Suhail Nabi Chintaaz to coordinate with the Forum to schedule the proposed meeting and upcoming Convention. Additionally, the delegation had earlier met with the F.A./Chief Accounts Officer to discuss pensioners’ issues.

A key highlight of the meeting was President Haji Bashir Ahmad Bhat’s invitation to the Commissioner to attend the upcoming one-day Convention of retired employees, which the Commissioner warmly accepted.
