Senior BJP leader Jay Panda meets CM Omar
Srinagar, Sep 23: National Vice President BJP Jay Panda met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar on Tuesday. The X handle of the office of Chief Minister said, “@PandaJay Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Committee on Public Undertakings, called on Chief Minister at Srinagar today.” Notably, as the next-gen Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms have been implemented across the county, Panda is in Kashmir to create awarness on the taxation reforms.
The Government of India has rolled out next-generation Goods and Services Tax reforms nationwide, effective September 22, 2025.
These reforms are designed to streamline tax structures, reduce compliance burdens, and stimulate economic growth. As part of the government's effort to educate citizens about these reforms, Jay Panda is visiting Jammu & Kashmir to hold an outreach and interaction program.
The event aims to promote transparency and engagement, ensuring that the people of Kashmir are well-informed about the benefits and implications of the next-gen GST reforms, said a statement.
