Seminar on drug abuse held at IMHANS

Srinagar, June 27: To observe ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking,’ the district administration of Srinagar organised an awareness programme at the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS) under the theme ‘Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention.’

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, who was chief guest on the occasion, said that the observance of this day is aimed at raising awareness about the threat that illicit drugs pose to society at large.

He said the main focus of organising today’s event was to spread awareness among the masses, particularly in youth about the ill effects of drug abuse and further measures required to achieve the goal of drug-free J&K. The DC underscored the stringent action being taken against illicit trafficking of drugs.
