Srinagar, Nov 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Imtiyaz Hussain today conducted a joint visit to Bemina area of the District to inspect the ongoing constructions on key infrastructure projects.

The visit was focused on reviewing the security arrangements at the construction project sites and inspecting the progress of critical infrastructure projects executed by the concerned construction agency.

During the visit, the DC and SSP assessed the living conditions of workers, including the availability of essential facilities such as clean drinking water, sanitation, and adequate housing.

They interacted with the labour force to address their concerns and ensure the implementation of welfare measures. They also evaluated the adherence to safety protocols and directed the construction agency to ensure all necessary measures promptly to ensure a conducive working environment.

During the visit, the DC emphasised that safety of workers is the top priority of District Administration and instructed executing agencies to ensure proper record keeping and strict adherence to security protocols at all sites.

The DC also emphasized the importance of timely and quality execution of ongoing projects, particularly on construction of the new High Court Complex. He highlighted the role of law enforcement in maintaining a secure environment for development initiatives

The SSP took stock of the security arrangements at the construction site and surrounding areas. He directed the agency to enhance coordination with local police to address any potential security concerns and ensure the safety of workers and infrastructure.
