New Delhi, Aug 06: Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai Tuesday said that the security of Kashmiri migrants had been enhanced and of the 6000 jobs sanctioned in their favour, 5724 had been filled under the Prime Minister’s Development Package 2015 and PM’s Reconstruction Plan 2008.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Rai said each eligible Kashmiri migrant receives an amount of Rs 3250 per month while each eligible Kashmiri migrant family receives a maximum of Rs 13,000 per month.

He said that each eligible Kashmiri migrant receives 9 kg rice and 2 kg atta per month while each eligible Kashmiri migrant family receives 1 kg sugar per month.

Rai said that the work on the construction of 6000 transit accommodations for the Kashmiri migrants recruited under the PM’s Employment Package was underway.

He said that five government schools including four higher secondary schools had been set up in the Kashmiri migrant camps.

Rai said that to ensure the security of Kashmiri migrants, the government had implemented several measures including robust security and intelligence grid, group security in the form of static guards, round-the-clock checkpoints at strategic points, night patrolling and area domination, identification of vulnerable spots, security arrangement through appropriate deployment, and intensified Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs).

He said that the unemployed youth among the migrants are also being supported with financial assistance through self-employment schemes.

Rai said that an online grievance portal, launched in August 2021, allows Kashmiri migrants to report issues related to encroachment, change of title, mutation, and distress sale of their properties.

He said that a provision of Ayushman Golden Health Cards and availability of Primary Health Centres and dispensaries in camps had been kept for Kashmiri migrants.

Rai said that the migration certificates were being issued to eligible students through the online portal www.jkmigrantrelief.nic.in.

He said that the domicile certificate, Resident of Backward Area (RBA) certificate, Migrant Certificate, Income Certificate, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) certificate, and Registration Certificates of Kashmiri migrants were being done online.
