Baramulla, Aug 09: Ahead of the Independence Day, 2024, celebrations, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla Amod Ashok Nagpure on Friday stated that strong and elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across the entire district.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the Tiranga Rally, the SSP Baramulla said the security arrangements were firmly in place and are more robust than before.

“We are already highly vigilant, alert, and prepared. We have increased our alertness and security measures more in light of the August 15 function,” Nagpure said.

About the preparations for the August 15 function, he said the Parade preparations were going on at the District Police Line (DPL) ground.

“But this year, the venue for the August 15 function will be Prof Showkat Ali Stadium. For the first time in many years, we have selected a new venue where the public can participate in large numbers," he said.

The SSP Baramulla said the entire event was open to everyone and appealed to the people to join in the Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2024.

“Let us all observe this day with peace,” he said.

Briefing about the impact and motive of organising the Tiranga Rally on motorcycles across the town, Nagpure said that ahead of the August 15 function, there was a festive and joyful atmosphere in which the administration and the people together were elevating the pride of the tricolour.

“Today, Police organised a grand bike rally in the town, where, the youth of the area participated in the rally along with the Police personnel,” he said.

Nagpure said that the youth joined the rally with their motorcycles, standing shoulder to shoulder with the police in a highly disciplined manner.

"The youth were riding their motorcycles with pride. They carried the tricolour through the entire Baramulla town in the rally. Our purpose is that every citizen of this country should proudly hold up the tricolour and send a message to the world that the people, administration, and police here stand united," he said.

The SSP Baramulla said that the tricolour would always wave freely in the skies.

"We are sending a message to the enemy that the bond between the civil administration, Police and public is very strong and anyone who tries to disrupt it will fail," he said.
