Banihal, Oct 30: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Arun Gupta, on Thursday said that the Chenab Valley has always remained on the radar of the enemy country, which continues to make attempts to disturb peace and communal harmony in the region. However, he asserted that any such attempts to revive terrorism will be defeated at all costs.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a police-public meeting held in Banihal on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), SSP Gupta emphasized that security forces are fully alert and determined to eliminate the remnants of terrorism from the Chenab Valley region.

“Under the leadership of DIG Doda–Kishtwar–Ramban Range, operations against terrorists are underway, and every effort is being made to uproot terrorism completely. The police, army, security forces, and intelligence agencies are working in close coordination to ensure lasting peace,” SSP Gupta said.

He informed that Ramban district shares borders with six other districts, yet there are currently no footprints or signs of terrorist presence in the area. “We are determined not to allow terrorism or its ideology to take root again in any part of the Chenab Valley,” he added.

The SSP further highlighted that the district enjoys a peaceful atmosphere, which needs to be preserved with the continued support and cooperation of the public. “The peace achieved here must be maintained and strengthened through collective vigilance and harmony,” he urged.
