Security forces conduct mock drill at world's highest railway bridge
Rajouri, Nov 12: Security forces on Tuesday conducted a successful mock drill at world's highest railway bridge located over Chenab river in Reasi district.
This was a part of series of mock drills being conducted by security forces under Jammu and Kashmir police at vital installations across the Jammu and Kashmir union territory. The mock drills are aimed to prepare the field forces for prompt response towards any untoward incident, especially of terror nature, at any vital installation especially of public place and development value.
At world's highest railway bridge at Kouri in Reasi, District Police Reasi conducted this successful mock drill. The drill, police said, was conducted alongwith it's Special Operations Group (SOG), teams of 126 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force, State Disaster Response Force, civil administration, fire and emergency services as well as teams of health department.
Besides, members of Village Defence Committees (VDCs), referred to as Village Defence Guards, were also part of this drill. Police said that the mock drill was conducted to check the preparedness of the forces on the ground within shortest possible time to thwart the nefarious design of anti-national elements. It was a proactive step to safeguard vital infrastructure, police added.
Earlier, five days ago, a similar mock drill for terror attack was conducted at Udhampur railway station.
