Security forces bust hideout near LoC in Nowgam Sector; arms, ammunition recovered

Srinagar, Nov 21: Security forces on Friday recovered large cache of arms and ammunition after they busted a hideout in Neeriyan Forest area along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowgam Sector of Handwara.

An official said that based on specific input a joint operation was launched by Handwara Police and Naugam brigade of the Indian Army in the Neeriyan Forest area along the LoC in the Nowgam sector.

During the operation, the joint team busted a major hideout which led to the recovery 02 M-series rifles with 04 magazines; 02 Chinese pistols with 03 magazines; 02 hand grenades; and some live rounds.

In this regard, FIR No. 39/2025 has been registered at Police Station Qalamabad, and further investigation has been set into motion.
