According to officials, stringent security arrangements have been put in place in Sopore, Zaingair, Rafiabad, and other areas falling under Police District Sopore. The J&K Police have established multiple checkpoints on main roads, intersections, and near sensitive installations, where vehicles and pedestrians are being thoroughly checked and identities verified.

Senior police officers said the heightened alert is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring public safety, maintaining law and order, and preventing any attempt by anti-national elements to disrupt peace in the region. Forces have been instructed to remain on high alert and coordinate closely with intelligence agencies to monitor any suspicious movement.

Residents of Sopore and nearby areas have been advised to cooperate with security personnel during checking operations. Police have also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity or unattended objects to the nearest security post.

Additional deployment of personnel has been made in crowded markets, bus stands, and public places, especially in view of the security situation in the national capital.

Officials said that the intensified checking and surveillance drive is likely to continue in the coming days as part of a broader effort to prevent any subversive activity and ensure peace across the Valley.
