"We have set up checkpoints across the district and have established strong coordination with Army, CRPF and other security agencies. We are ensuring a safe environment so that elections will be held in a cordial atmosphere and maximum turnout will be recorded in the district," he said.

"Police and Army are well prepared to thwart any possible attempt of disturbing peace. This year has been peaceful so far and our endeavour would be to keep the atmosphere peaceful throughout the year. With close coordination with the Army and other security forces, we are determined that cross border terrorism will not affect the upcoming elections," he said.
