Secretary Health reviews SKIMS MC&H’s functioning
Srinagar, Apr 2: Secretary of Health and Medical Education, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah Tuesday visited SKIMS Medical College and Hospital (MC&H) and reviewed the functioning of the institute.
An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that he had a comprehensive round of various units of the hospital to assess the medical facilities available for the patients.
During his visit, Shah also interacted with the faculty and the students and underscored the need for a broad-based interaction among the students and the teachers.
He assessed the current state of healthcare infrastructure and services at SKIMS MC&H, focusing on patient care, infrastructure, medical equipment, and overall operational efficiency of the hospital.
Interacting with the doctors and other staff, Shah said that the goal was to ensure that the medical facilities meet the highest standards.
He visited various departments including Ophthalmology, Physiology, Anatomy, Community Medicine, and other related infrastructure and took first-hand appraisal of each facility.
Shah also interacted with the patients as well as attendants and received feedback from them about the healthcare facilities being provided there.
Interacting with the medicos, he said that SKIMS MC&H was a pivotal medical institute and they had a responsibility towards providing better care to the patients.
Highlighting the need for creating a professional work culture for enhanced outcomes, Shah encouraged faculty members to create innovative models of teaching that have a positive impact.
He called for ensuring cleanliness in and around the hospital which was a prerequisite for the health of the patients.
Shah also visited the hospital canteen and issued strict instructions to the concerned for maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.
He also interacted with the students and sought firsthand feedback from them about the quality of education being provided to them.
