Srinagar, Nov 16: Chairperson of a humanitarian NGO, Human Effort for Love and Peace (HELP) foundation, Nighat Shaf Pandit, today inaugurated the first-ever Seashell & Color Exhibition in a vibrant ceremony held at Baitul Miraas in Downtown Aali Kadal area

The event was attended by a large number of artists, students, and nature enthusiasts. The exhibition showcases an exquisite collection of seashells highlighting the beauty, diversity, and natural artistry of marine life. The organisers said this one-of-its-kind exhibition displays the rare beauty and diversity of seashells and corals, offering visitors, especially students an engaging insight into the fascinating world beneath the ocean waves.

In her inaugural remarks, Nighat Shafi Pandit emphasised the importance of connecting with nature’s creativity and preserving biodiversity. She appreciated the efforts of the organisers for curating an event that blends education, art, and environmental awareness, offering visitors, especially students, a unique glimpse into the fascinating world of seashells and natural colors.

She said the exhibition aims to inspire eco-conscious creativity, promote local craftsmanship, and raise awareness about the conservation of ecosystems.

Nighat said the venue of the Seashell exhibition, Baitul Meeras, is itself an effort of HELP foundation to make the younger generation aware and conscious of their rich culture and heritage. "The computer lab at the Baitul Meeras has been set up to cater to the tech-savvy students," Pandit added.

Speaking on the occasion, Robin Koul, an amateur seashell collector and resource person of the exhibition, said Seashell & Color Exhibition celebrates the harmony between nature and art, showcasing the beauty, diversity, and vibrant hues of marine life. It offers visitors an opportunity to learn about seashell species, their ecological importance, and cultural significance. The exhibition promotes environmental awareness, supports local artisans, and provides a peaceful, visually engaging experience that connects people with the wonders of the ocean. Robin has passionately collected over 600 unique seashells over the past two decades.
