Searches continue in Rajouri-Poonch

Rajouri, Oct 10: Security forces on Friday continued the search operation in the upper reaches of Pir Panjal mountains located near the site where the encounter erupted on Tuesday evening.

Although no fresh exchange of fire or trace of terrorists could be reported, forces were carrying out a massive manhunt to follow the footprints of terrorists.

On Tuesday evening, during a Cordon and Search Operation of Police, contact got established between a search team of Special Operation Group (SoG) and terrorists and both sides exchanged gunfire.

Since Tuesday evening, Indian Army, Police and CRPF have been carrying out a massive counter terror operation in the areas of upper reaches making efforts to follow the footprints of terrorists.

The search operation, officials stated, continued on the fourth consecutive day on Friday and cordon was extended to some more areas.
