Searches conducted in Samba

Jammu, May 4: Security forces Saturday launched a joint search operation in forward villages along the International Border in Samba district.

Officials said that the searches were conducted in several villages including Manguchak, Khora, Chillyari etc., in the aftermath of recent infiltration attempts from across the border.

On May 1, the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel had gunned down a Pakistani intruder along the International Border in Samba district.

According to BSF officials, he was neutralised after he had crossed the International Border in Samba. “He was challenged by the troops, but he kept moving towards the border fencing. The troops then opened fire and shot him dead,” they had stated.
