Searches conducted in dozens of villages in Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch

Area around DPL Rajouri remained cordoned over suspicious movement

Rajouri, July 13: Security forces on Saturday conducted searches in dozens of villages located in different subdivisions of Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi districts.

Operations in the areas of these three districts were conducted on the basis of information related to suspicious movement.

The area around district police lines Rajouri also remained Cordon on Saturday morning after reports of a suspicious movement.

Officials said that in Reasi district, multiple operations were carried out on Saturday in areas of Mahore, Arnas and Reasi sub division.

They said that other operations were speculative in nature and are going on since days but operation at two locations in the district were conducted on the basis of some information regarding suspicious movement.

These search operations were going on when last reports were received. Alongside it, officials said, security forces in Rajouri district also conducted multiple search operations in different areas with a few search operations were speculative in nature but two search operations were conducted on the basis of some information.

These operations were conducted jointly by Jammu and Kashmir police, SoG, Army and CAPF.

The search operations that were launched on the basis of specific information were going on when last reports were received where as the operations that was speculative in nature were called off in the evening hours.

The forces including army, police and CRPF also conducted search operation in the area around police lines Rajouri after two suspects were seen in the wee morning hours on Saturday. Senior officers of security forces also visited this area and conducted searches.  In border district Poonch, four different villages were taken under cordon and searches were started on Saturday morning after suspicious movement.

These searches were going on when last reports were received.
