Searches, area domination operation held at Hari Singh High Street
Srinagar, Dec 21: Police on Sunday launched a search and area domination operation in some parts of the city, including Hari Singh High Street, Jahangir Chowk, and adjoining localities, as part of heightened security measures.
Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also participated in the operation, which involved intensified patrolling, frisking of suspects, and checking of vehicles at key locations.
Officials said the exercise was preventive in nature and aimed at deterring any unlawful activities and reassuring the public. A police official said the operation was conducted based on routine security assessments. “Such search and area domination exercises are carried out periodically to strengthen the security grid and ensure peace in the city,” the official said, adding that people were requested to cooperate with the security forces during the checks.
