Search operation conducted in Barbarshah

Srinagar, Nov 13: In a bid to strengthen the security grid in the city centre, Srinagar Police, assisted by personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), on Thursday carried out a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the busy Barbarshah locality.

Officials said the joint operation began early in the morning and continued for several hours, covering both residential clusters & commercial establishments. Security forces conducted thorough searches of houses, shops and business premises, while surprise checks on vehicles & commuters were carried out at multiple entry & exit points.

The exercise, officials added, was part of ongoing preventive and confidence-building measures aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the heart of Srinagar. Such surprise operations, they noted, are conducted periodically to sustain a robust security presence, deter potential threats and reassure residents and visitors. The CASO concluded peacefully with no untoward incident reported.
