SDH Kupwara holds outreach programme
Kupwara, Aug 31: A midterm CME-cum-outreach programme was organised by Post Graduate Department Sub District Hospital, Kupwara, under the aegis of J&K Chapter of ASI (JAKASI) at the far flung, picturesque town of Kupwara on 30 and 31 August to fulfill the vision of Chairman Prof Iqbal Saleem Mir of delivering the best services to the far-flung areas of J&K and keeping the surgeons working in these areas updated with the latest advances.
Around 150-200 delegates attended the conference which included the senior faculty from Medical Colleges all over the state, consultants working in peripheral institutes, private hospitals, residentand PGs doctors from all the Medical Colleges, and DNB centres.
Different topics of surgery with the central theme of “Safe Surgery”were discussed and deliberated on the first day including invited guest lectures, panel discussions, video presentation, PG Quiz, PG paper and posters. Prizes were distributed for the PG QUIZ.
On the second day an outreach program was organised at the picturesque Bangus Valley whereby a medical camp was organised. A number of patients were examined by the senior doctors and treated accordingly.
President JAKASI thanked all the delegates and reiterated his dream of organising such events in other far-flung areas of the UT thus setting the example for the rest of the people.
