Scooterist killed in road accident at Mustafabad

Srinagar, Jan 11: A scooterist was killed in a road accident at Mustafabad area here on city outskirts.

Police said the scooterist was seriously injured when a speeding vehicle hit the scooter and another car near Mustafabad. He was rushed to hospital however he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was identified as Ashiq Hussain son of Abdul Aziz, resident of Maloora area of Srinagar.

“We have registered an FIR in this regard, and further investigations have been initiated,” said a police official.

Meanwhile, as the video surfaced on social media, the netizens reacted sharply to the issue. They said the U-turns and diversions on HMT and other Srinagar roads have become a death trap for commuters.

“The HMT road is notorious for accidents, and there are U-turns and diversions along the road which result in many accidents,” said a commuter.
