Schools to reopen in non-border districts, closure continues in border areas: Div Com Jammu

Jammu, May 12: The Jammu divisional administration on Monday announced the reopening of educational institutions in non-border districts, while schools and colleges in border districts will remain closed until further notice.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu on its official X handle said: “After reviewing the situation Education Department has decided to reopen the non border districts educational institutions & Border districts will continue closure of education institutions”.

The decision comes amid ongoing security concerns following recent cross-border shelling incidents. Authorities said the move aims to ensure student safety while gradually restoring normalcy in safer regions.
