Srinagar, Apr 20: The wet weather has continued to envelop Kashmir over the past three days, with fresh rains on Saturday even as the Meteorological Department has predicted light precipitation at some places during the next 24 hours. The recent downpour has brought a drop in night temperatures across most places in Jammu and Kashmir, with many areas recording below-normal mercury levels.

MeT officials here said that Srinagar received 18 mm of rain in the last 24 hours, Qazigund 30 mm, Pahalgam 7 mm, Kupwara 13 mm, Kokernag 21 mm, Gulmarg 15 mm, Jammu 11 mm, Banihal 40 mm, Batote 29 mm, Katra 14 mm, and Bhaderwah 16 mm.

Looking ahead, the Weather Department has forecast generally dry weather from April 21 to 25, with the possibility of afternoon thundershower activity at isolated places.

However, from April 26 to 27, generally, cloudy weather with light rain, coupled with thunder, has been forecast in many places.

Regarding temperatures, the MeT officials said, Srinagar recorded a minimum of 7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.9 degrees Celsius below normal for this time of the year.

Qazigund recorded a minimum of 7 degrees Celsius, slightly above normal, while Pahalgam recorded a low of 1.6 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees Celsius below normal.

Kokernag recorded a minimum of 5.8 degrees Celsius, Kupwara 6 degrees Celsius, and Gulmarg 0.5 degrees Celsius, all below normal for their respective areas.

In Jammu, the minimum temperature was recorded at 16.8 degrees Celsius, below normal by 3.4 degrees Celsius.

Banihal recorded a low of 6.4 degrees Celsius, Batote 8.4 degrees Celsius, and Bhaderwah 6.6 degrees Celsius.
