Srinagar, Sep 27: In a powerful demonstration of grit, faith, and teamwork, Crampon Adventures and Badamwari Athletes, successfully summited Tatakooti Peak on September 22.

The climbers—Zahid Kota, Sahil Qayoom, Nauman Bashir, Rameez Bhat, Parvaiz Ahmad, Sohail Yousuf Khan, and Mir Yaqoob—undertook this arduous journey driven by passion and a belief that divine guidance was their true compass.

“Tatakooti demands more than physical endurance—it’s about trust, collaboration, and resilience,” said Zahid Kota. “Through the grace of Allah SWT, we overcame every challenge.”

The teams set out from Dodpathri on September 21 at 10:45 AM, swiftly reaching Diskal by 12:10 PM. Enveloped by the pristine beauty of nature, they pressed on to Dumail Base Camp, arriving at 2:50 PM. After setting up camp, they ventured to Kon Nag for a brief exploration before returning to prepare for the summit.

“We knew the real challenge lay ahead,” reflected Parvaiz Ahmad. “Exploring Kon Nag was a treat, but the summit was our goal.”

The climbers were up at 4:30 AM, fortified by tea and sheer determination. Led by Sahil Qayoom and Zahid Kota, with Nauman Bashir expertly managing the group, the team navigated dangerous scree, loose rocks, and steep verticals. Their collective spirit and faith kept them moving forward, despite moments of doubt.

“At times, we felt lost in the wilderness, but we pressed on with courage,” said Nauman Bashir.

By 10:20 AM, they reached the 4,760-meter summit, their hard work and faith rewarded with breathtaking views and a sense of divine presence.

“We stood in awe of the majesty of the mountains and felt the greatness of Allah SWT,” said Mir Yaqoob. “It was truly humbling.”

Mindful of the weather, the climbers began their descent at 11:15 AM, skillfully navigating the treacherous glacier crevasses with guidance from Nauman Bashir, Rameez Bhat, and the rest of the team. They returned to Dumail Base Camp by 3:00 PM, celebrating their victory before departing for Dodpathri, where they arrived at 8:45 PM under the cover of darkness.

“This journey was more than just reaching the top,” said Sohail Yousuf Khan. “It was about humility, unity, and the power of faith.”

The successful summit of Tatakooti Peak stands as a testament to the team’s resilience, faith, and the profound connection between humanity and nature—a victory that transcends physical achievement.
