Leh, Sep 18; In a bid to support community welfare, the State Bank of India (SBI) has donated a school bus to the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

The vehicle was officially handed over by Krishan Sharma, Chief General Manager of the Chandigarh Circle, SBI, to Padma Gurmet, Director of NISR, in a ceremony held today in Leh.

The event was attended by senior SBI officials, including Jayant Mani, Deputy General Manager, Business and Operations, J&K Zone, and Anil Tondon, Chief Manager of the Leh Branch, as well as faculty, staff, and students of the institute. Padma Gurmet expressed gratitude for the donation, thanking SBI for its generous contribution to the students of NISR.

He also provided an overview of the Institute’s ongoing activities focused on public welfare.

In his address, Krishan Sharma reaffirmed SBI's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote community welfare and regional development. He highlighted the bank’s role in fostering partnerships with institutions dedicated to social and public service.

This gesture is part of SBI's broader commitment to contributing to the socio-economic growth of Ladakh through its various CSR initiatives.
