Satish Sharma launches development works worth Rs 12 crore
Jammu, Nov 26: Minister for Transport, FCS&CA, Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology, Science and Technology Satish Sharma, today launched several road upgradation development works.
The Minister inaugurated blacktopping work on four roads including Thandi Choi to Sainth, Thakra to Rishi Colony, Seriplai to Kamala and BB Bhangra Maira via Khara road. He was informed that road to Bhangra Maira via Khara is 10.99 km which will be completed at an estimated cost of around Rs 10 crore.
It was informed that 1.250 km road from Thakra to Rishi Colony will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 22 lakh under Seema Samridhi Yojna, 1.7 km road from Thandi Choi to Sainth will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore and 870 metre road from Seriplai to Kamala will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 40 lakh.
The Minister, while speaking on the occasion, said that many more projects will be sanctioned for providing connectivity to the rural sector. He said that on completion of upgradation of these roads, which are connected to many other villages, a large number of people will get benefitted.
Satish Sharma stressed that road infrastructure will ensure greater ease of travel and it will connect villages to prosperity and contribute in overall socio-economic development of rural populace. He highlighted the significance of improved road connectivity for nation’s development, saying that it has a pivotal role in effective implementation of schemes related to agriculture, health and education.
Satish Sharma reiterated that better road connectivity, updated health and education system, modern transportation and enhanced basic facilities to people form core agenda of present dispensation under the leadership of CM Omar Abdullah to build a new Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister also asked the concerned officials to ensure the quality of work and completion within timeline. He cautioned that laxity on part of any stakeholder will be dealt with strictness.
Enroute, the Minister met with the residents of locals villages and listened to their grievances. He assured them that all their issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities and resolved on priority basis.
