Satish Sharma chairs J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Annual State Council meet in Jammu
Jammu, Dec 29: The Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides successfully conducted its Annual State Council Meeting at the State Headquarters (SHQs), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, on 29th December, 2025.
The meeting, as per a DYSS statement, was held under the leadership of Satish Sharma, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports and ARI & Trainings Departments. President, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, and the Director General, Youth Services and Sports, State Chief Commissioner, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides.
The Annual State Council Meeting is a key statutory body of the organisation and serves as an important platform to review the functioning, achievements, and progress of scouting and guiding activities across the Jammu & Kashmir. During the meeting, various developmental initiatives, programmes, and future action plans aimed at strengthening character building, leadership, discipline, and community service among youth were discussed.
Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Youth Services and Sports J&K Govt, State Chief Commissioner in her welcome address highlighted the organisation’s ongoing activities and reaffirmed the commitment of the department to further support and expand scouting and guiding programmes throughout Jammu & Kashmir.
The President of J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, in his address, appreciated the dedicated efforts of the volunteers, leaders, and office bearers of J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides in promoting the values of service, patriotism, and social responsibility among young people. He emphasised the role of Scouting and Guiding in nation-building and youth empowerment.
Rajinder Singh Tara, Vice President, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, Dr Fayaz Ahmed Nikka Sr Vice President, Vinakshi Koul, Jt. Director, Youth Services and Sports, Ashok Kumar, Vice President, Nasreen Khan State Secretary cum Administrative Officer, Wg. Cmdr M M Joshi State Commissioner AR(S), Gulshan Ara Jt. Administrative Officer cum State Commissioner AR(G) along with other members of the State Council, district representatives, and officials of J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides were present in the meeting and actively participated in deliberations.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Nikka expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, officials, and members for their presence and contributions towards the growth of Scouting and Guiding in J&K.
