SATHE scholarship test draws nearly 5,000 students
Srinagar, Dec 9: In one of the biggest scholarship initiatives in Kashmir, Sadam KIE (SKIE) conducted its Mega SATHE Scholarship Test 2025 on Sunday across four major centres — Parraypora, Soura, Rajbagh and Anantnag — witnessing an overwhelming response with around 5,000 students appearing for the exam.
Students from Classes 8 to 12, along with NEET and JEE aspirants, participated in the test, with many travelling from far-off districts including Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Banihal of Jammu division. The test was held under the direct supervision of SKIE Director, Sadam Sir, who monitored arrangements to ensure smooth conduct.
Speaking to media, Director Sadam Sir said the scholarship test aims to support talented students, especially those from economically weaker backgrounds. “Our mission is to support every talented and economically weak student of Kashmir. This scholarship reduces fee burden and provides access to mentorship, quality guidance and opportunities,” he said.
He said scholarships will be awarded strictly on merit, with 92-100% scorers eligible for 100% fee waiver. “Our scholarship tests are fair and transparent. The percentage chart was displayed publicly today. Whether rich or poor, scholarships go only to performers,” he added.
Due to winter delays and traffic issues, many students could not reach centres on time, prompting repeated requests for a second test. SKIE announced that Phase II of the Mega Scholarship Test will be held on December 14 at all branches, with reporting time 11 AM.
Senior faculty members described the SATHE Scholarship Test as more than an academic exercise. Physics teacher Abid Sir said the initiative opens doors for students to pursue dreams without financial stress.
SKIE Business Head, Aijaz Ahad, said only 20-25% of registered students could be accommodated due to high response, and scholarship tests will continue every Sunday through December. Students have been advised to register online at join.skie.live.
Several students expressed satisfaction with the exam pattern. A NEET aspirant described the paper as NEET-based and confidence-boosting. A Class 10 student said the test was fair and covered the school syllabus. A Class 12 Science student called the initiative a “big opportunity” for those seeking mentorship at an affordable cost. A JEE aspirant said it felt like real exam practice.
Parraypora Centre Head, Hafizullah Bhat, also advised students who missed the exam to appear in Phase-II on December 14 at all SKIE centres.
The massive turnout has reinforced SKIE’s growing presence in the coaching sector, with thousands looking forward to results and the next round of scholarship opportunities.
