Santosh Trophy: J&K beat Ladakh 5-0
Srinagar, Nov 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Senior Men's Football Team stamped their authority on the Santosh Trophy Phase-1, crushing Ladakh 5-0 in their final group match today in Srinagar. The victory sealed their group-topping position with nine flawless points from three matches.
Boasting an impressive goal tally of 10 scored against just one conceded, the team's dominance reflects the expert guidance of their coaching duo - former international player Mehrajuddin Wadoo and Chief Coach Satpal Singh Kala.
"This performance showcases the immense football talent in J&K," said Youth Services and Sports Minister Satish Sharma, congratulating the squad. His sentiments were echoed by Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary of Youth Services and Sports, who praised the team's excellent first-round showing.
J&K Sports Council Secretary Nuzhat Gul attributed the success to rigorous preparation, including strategic training camps in Srinagar and Jammu. "J&K football deserves its place at the top of the Indian football map," she stated, highlighting the meticulous selection process and expert coaching behind the team's rise.
The squad's championship journey will continue at the final round in Telangana, starting December 14, where they aim to convert their perfect group stage record into national glory.
