SANGAM 2025 unites NIT alumni to celebrate excellence, sustainability
Srinagar, Oct 13: The Global Annual Alumni Meet – SANGAM 2025 (Students Alumni Networking for Growth, Aspiration, and Monitoring) held at NIT Srinagar emerged as a vibrant celebration of connection, collaboration, and commitment.
A statement of NIT issued here said that under the leadership of Prof M A Shah, Dean (Alumni and International Affairs), the two-day event brought together alumni from across India and abroad, symbolising a powerful reunion of intellect, innovation, and inspiration.
It said that SANGAM 2025 was not merely an alumni gathering but an emotional renewal of bonds that define the NIT Srinagar fraternity.
“The event nurtured the professional and emotional dimensions of the institution’s global alumni community, while also underscoring its dedication to sustainability, innovation, and inclusive growth,” the statement said.
It said that a highlight of the event was the felicitation of the Chairman of Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO), Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo, who was conferred with the Green Ambassador of Kashmir 2025 Award by Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), Prof Ravinder Nath.
The statement said that the recognition honoured Wangnoo’s contributions to environmental conservation under Mission Ehsaas, highlighting NIT Srinagar’s commitment to honouring champions of ecological preservation and sustainable development.
It said that speakers and delegates, including eminent alumni like Rashid Ahmed Fani, Malay Chatterjee, Mir Muneer, Irfan Shafi Parray, and Ramesh Ramakrishnan, lauded Shah’s leadership, empathy, and hands-on involvement.
The statement said that their reflections described SANGAM 2025 as a living tapestry of legacy, camaraderie, and vision, a perfect blend of nostalgia and forward-looking collaboration.
It said that from engaging academic sessions to heartfelt reunions, the event resonated with the values of inclusiveness, innovation, and inspiration.
The statement said that the participation of faculty, alumni, and students alike reaffirmed NIT Srinagar’s evolving spirit and its growing stature as a cradle of excellence.
It said that as the curtains fell on SANGAM 2025, the collective message from delegates was, “This was not merely an event. It was an emotion rekindled, a promise renewed, and a journey towards a more sustainable, connected, and inspiring tomorrow.”
