Samba shell explosion victim succumbs to injuries

Jammu, June 5: An elderly woman, who had sustained injuries in a mysterious blast in Khada Madana area of Purmandal in Samba district along with two others on May 27, 2024, succumbed during treatment in GMC hospital here on Wednesday.

Following the explosion, SSP Samba Vinay Sharma had stated, “The reason for the blast seemed to be the explosion of an old rusted shell.”

Three persons, identified as Suriya Bibi, 58, wife of Shash din; Rameet Singh, 66, son of Sansar Singh and Semroo Devi, 76, wife of Dharam Chand, all residents of Khada Madana, Purmandal (Samba), had sustained injuries in the explosion.

Semroo Devi succumbed to her critical injuries today and her body was handed over to her family for last rites, after medico-legal formalities. The condition of the other two injured was stated to be stable.;
