Jammu, Aug 27: The second edition of the Sama-Vaya art retreat, hosted by Skyview by Empyrean in the Sanget-Patnitop region, concluded successfully with an inspiring exhibition of collaborative and individual artworks.

The four-day retreat, organised by art curator Anupa Mehta and supported by crafts curator Anu Chowdhury Sorabjee, brought together eight master artists and craftspeople from across India. Participants included practitioners of Bhil art from Madhya Pradesh and Basohli Miniature art from Jammu, among other styles.

The exhibition, held on August 25, showcased works by Lado Bai, Kritika Joshi, Saroj Shyam, Rachita Dutta, Rachna Badrakia, Neha Lavingia, Suman Gupta, and Sohan Singh Billawaria. It attracted prominent art collectors, over 80 art students from Jammu University, and celebrated personalities from the film and theatre world, including Rajit Kapur and Shernaz Patel.

Owais Altaf Syed, Director of Skyview by Empyrean, expressed pride in hosting the event, highlighting the diverse perspectives brought by the artists. Anupa Mehta, the event's curator, praised the artists' unique interpretations and collaborations.

The retreat took place at Skyview by Empyrean, a 22-acre premium mountain retreat offering views of the Pir Panjal range and located an hour's drive from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple.
